What is a Credit Union?

Very simply, a credit union is a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution organized to promote thrift and provide credit to its members. Credit unions evolved from the simple idea that people could pool their money and make loans to each other.

Credit unions are member-owned and controlled by the people who use them--the members.

Because credit unions do not pay outside stockholders, earnings flow back to the members in the form of higher dividends, lower loan rates, and fewer fees.

What does this mean to you? You save money!
